This was instituted by Government since the colonial era, as a deliberate policy to bridge the educational development gap between the south and north of the country, by increasing access by children of northern Ghana parentage to secondary education. Awards cover feeding grant and are given on the basis of recommendations from Heads of senior high schools, in respect of brilliant students selected from merit list of first year students, after a special examinations is conducted for them. More »
